altatasWe recommend general anaesthesia for patient who feels an extreme anxiety of dental procedures.Under general anaesthesia you are totally unconscious, you can't feel any pain.

First of all, a thin needle is put into a vein close to the surface of the skin in either the arm or the back of your hand. To monitor you during your treatment, we will place ECG patches on your chest, a blood pressure cuff will be placed on your arm. A clip will be placed on your finger to monitor your oxygen level in your blood. Then anaesthetic drugs will be given through the cannula, induction happens very quickly. Once you are unconscious, a breathing tube will be inserted into your trachea in order to protect your airway from contaminations. During the routine anaesthetic you may be given sedatives, anaesthetic drugs or gases, muscle relaxants, painkiller drugs. At the end of the treatment, we will remove the breathing tube and you will regain consciousness soon.

After the procedure we will observe you for a short time in our recovery room. After some hours you can leave the dentistry, you need to be escorted by a responsible adult and don't perform any strenuous or hazardous activities and don't drive the rest of the day.

You mustn't eat 6 hours before narcosis, but you are allowed to drink clear water 2 hours before. In addition it is forbidden to smoke and to drink alcohol right before and after the narcosis. You should continue to take your normal medicines on the day of your operation.
